TOUR PACKAGES FOR TWO

All Seldom Scene packages include accommodations for two people, for two nights, and include a full  custom breakfast each morning delivered to your door.  Reservations for dinner at Denbars Steak Chalet will be arranged for you, just five minutes away (dinner is not included in tour package price).  Taxes are included.  Gratuities are not included.

Stay & Play Tour for Two – Kawartha Downs; Speedway Stock Car Races, Slots and Harness Racing events.  Accommodations and breakfast for two people for two nights, only 5 minutes from Kawartha Downs.  Package includes a buffet dinner for two at Kawartha Downs where you can dine and watch the races.  It also includes a $5 coupon toward entry fee for Stock Car Races and $5 Ticket on a horse race.  Package includes Tour map and tour description, hospitality and hosting.

Golf & Dinner Tour for Two – Keystone Links  Golf and Country Club is only 5 minutes away and is open year round.  The course opens as soon as weather permits in the spring, usually mid-April, and continues until at least mid-November.  Indoor golf year round, computerized.  Play the best golf courses all around the world.  The Tour includes accommodations and breakfast for two people for two nights, 18 holes of golf, a golf cart and a steak dinner at the Club house.  Tour does not include drinks and gratuities.                  $675

Heritage Tour for Two – Visit to the Canadian National Canoe Museum, afternoon Scottish Tea at Hutchison House, and your choice between a canoe/kayak excursion or Peterborough Hydraulic Liftlock experience from a Liftlock Cruises tour boat.  Tour includes entry fees and boat rentals.  This tour is subject to season of operation of excursion operators, mid-May to mid-October.  The Canoe Museum is open all year, open on Sundays, and the Peterborough Centennial Museum & Archives is also available year round.

Festival of Lights Tour for Two – Take the Water taxi from the Boathouse wharf to Crary Park where you will be treated to a Peterborough Summer Festival of Lights Concert.  Watch the post-concert fireworks from the water taxi on Little Lake.  Coffee and dessert at Elements Restaurant, downtown Peterborough near  the Boathouse wharf.  This tour is available for concerts Wednesdays and Saturdays, Mid June to late August.

Farmers’ Market Tour for Two – Saturday morning tour, 7am to noon.  Arrive Friday night, sample market produce by the bonfire next to Trout Creek in summer, or by the fire in your cabin retreat in winter, and in the morning venture to the Peterborough Farmers’ Market.  Experience purchasing foods, crafts, arts and plants directly from the local farmers, then explore the vibrant downtown of Peterborough shops and chef-owned restaurants.  Tour includes 2 nights, 2 breakfasts for two, arrival picnic.

Emma’s Creative Crafts Tour for Two – for 3 or 4 children.  Two hours in your host’s log house, at a very large table with young people’s best friend, Emma, making pens, brooches, bracelets, paintings and/or sculptures using a variety of mediums.  For example, work with paper, paint, sculpy, airdry clay, beads and foods.  For children 2 to 12 years.  Emma is currently enrolled at Fleming College in the Educational Assistant Program.  Emma has taught ‘Artistic Time’ for 5 years at the Uxbridge Montessori Summer Day Camp and has a special talent for children with disabilities.  Adult supervision required for younger children.  Tour includes workspace, craft materials, a snack and two nights accommodation and breakfasts for two adults and two children.  Tour dates are subject to availability of Emma’s schedule.  Add $50 for each additional child for the workshop.

Pet Friendly Tour for Two + Pet – Stroll in the woods and country roads with your pet and take it to the pet spa for a bath and clip and pampering.  All Creatures Great and Small pet spa and store is located very near the Canada Trail and Millenium Park on the Otonabee River where you can play with your pet.  Stroll through the downtown for a gander at the shops and restaurants.  Tour includes welcome treats for your pet, two nights accommodation for two plus your pet (kennel on site), breakfast both mornings, reservations the pet spa (fees not included).

Kawartha Water and Winery Tour for Two – Enjoy your first evening in the privacy of your retreat cabin on Trout Creek.  In the morning your custom menu breakfast arrives at your cabin door.  Take a drive and explore the beauty of the Otonabee River on the River Road, the Village of Lakefield and the countryside north to Curve Lake Reserve, past the Trent Severn Waterway locks at Buckhorn and beyond, getting right onto the Canadian Shield and seeing rocks and trees and water.
This Tour for Two is a day trip that allows you to enjoy the river scenery on River Road, stopping into the Green’s Greenhouse on the River for the smells of florals bursting.  Arrive in Lakefield and search out In A Nuttshell, Lakefield’s Gourmet Foodstore and Catering Service, where you will pick up your picnic lunch.  Stop along the way to enjoy your lunch and continue to Curve Lake Reserve to  Whetung’s Ojibway Art Gallery and then on to Kawartha Country Wines.  Meet the vintner, John Rufa and taste a few of his fine fruit wines, made mostly from their own fruits. The jellies and jams are delightful, local cheese and other treats can be purchased.

Weekend Spa Detoxifying Package For Two - Check in on Friday afternoon/evening and enjoy the cabin and grounds of Seldom Scene. Saturday morning wake up to a wonderful home cooked custom breakfast brought to your door, then tour the local Peterborough Farmers market. A lunch of a fresh Caesar salad/ crab salad wrap, ice cold water/herbal teas and a light dessert will be served to you at your cabin. Lay back and enjoy a Moor Mud Wrap followed by an all over body massage, approximately 1 1/2 hours of treatment/per person. Prepare for a wonderful dinner at Denbars Steak Chalet ($75.00 gift certificate provided). A complimentary Festival of Lights show in the summer months of Peterborough is available on Wednesday/Saturday evenings. Sunday morning another custom breakfast will be brought to your door, followed by a Hot Moor Mud Bath for two. A foot reflexology session and a paraffin hand/foot wrap will be the perfect way to end this fabulous weekend!
